Dublin man has face slashed in vicious attack
GARDAI are investigating after a 32-year-old man suffered slash wounds to his head and chest during a frenzied attack in Coolock.
The 32-year-old man was set upon by two men in his home on Adare Road at 9pm on Tuesday night.
Sources say the row, during which the man was attacked by knives, initiated inside the house before spilling out onto the road.
A source told The Sunday World: “Gardai were alerted by neighbours who said a man was being set upon by two individuals on the street outside his home.
“By the time Gardai and paramedics arrived at the scene, the man’s assailants had already fled.
“He was discovered with laceration or slash type wounds to his head and chest.
“He was taken by Dublin Fire Brigade Paramedics to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
“The injured man has yet to make a statement in connection with the incident.”
The Sunday World understands the injured man is not known to Gardai for involvement in serious crime.
It’s understood he has minor convictions.
An investigation into the incident is being carried out by Coolock Gardai.
