Drugs seized, man arrested after gardai search car in targeted Dublin op

A man in his late 20s was arrested yesterday evening after gardai discovered drugs during a car search in west Dublin.

Garda seized drugs and arrested one man as part of investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin. 

Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €240,000 was seized when gardai stopped a car at Cherry Orchard Drive, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 on Friday evening at around 6.45pm.

The occupant of the car, a 29-year-old man, was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to Ronanstown garda station and is currently detained for questioning under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
