Drugs and gun seized and 35 arrests made following raids on 24 premises
Gardai carrying out searches as part of Operation Thor have arrested 35 people after they searched 24 premises in the Kilkenny-Carlow area.
Of those arrested 12 were taken in under warrant and four more were charged and brought to court.
19 prisoners are currently being detained at Carlow, Kilkenny and Thomastown garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Of the 24 buildings searched today 23 were dwellings, while one was a premises.
Drugs worth an estimated €34,000 were seized along with a handgun during the raids.
