Driving instructor charged over alleged child sex offences in Dublin house
A driving instructor has been arrested and charged over alleged child sex offences.
The man, who is in his 60s, was arrested at a property in south Dublin on Friday night and taken to Tallaght garda station, Independent.ie has learned.
He was charged in connection with alleged sex offences that took place in the early 1990s.
The man was charged in the station and released on bail to appear in court on October 28.
Officers first received a complaint in April 2015 and the man was subsequently arrested and questioned later that year.
The victim has claimed that she was raped and sexually abused by the man when she was a child in a house in Dublin.
The suspect in the case was not previously known to gardai and has no previous criminal convictions.
He is well-known in the locality because of his job as a driving instructor.
