A disabled man in his 50s was slashed and robbed by a pair of thugs in the Peter's Hill area or north Belfast yesterday.

The victim was approached by two men who asked him for a cigarette.

One of the men, who was aged in his 20s, pulled out a blade and demanded cash from the man.

The mobility scooter driver then handed over a sum of cash before being sliced again by the brutes.

Both attackers ran off on foot toward the Lower Falls Road.

PSNI described the thugs as being aged in their early 20s with one wearing a black baseball cap and the other wearing a red zipped top.

The second man had black hair and a moustache.

The victim was treated in hospital for injuries to his arm.
