A petty criminal has reportedly had his ear 'sliced off' in what is believed to be a row over a drug debt.

Today's Irish Sun report that the victim was found injured near Dublin Airport yesterday.

Gardai have confirmed to the Sunday World that a complaint has been made to them regarding an incident in the vicinity of the Airport.

In a statement issued to the Sunday World they said:

'Gardaí at Finglas are investigating alleged assault on a man in his early 30's which occurred at Harristown lane St Margarets at approx. 2.30pm on 27th Sept 2016.

'The man was discovered by emergency services with a visible injury to his ear, in the St Margarets area.

'Investigations are ongoing.'

According to the report this morning, the man was abducted by a gang in north Dublin and bundled into a car.

He then had his ear 'sliced off' before being dumped near the airport.

The report also says the ear has been recovered and medics are hopeful it can be successfully reattached.

The victim is known to gardai but he is not involved in serious crime.

The report claims that a vicious Dublin drug gang may be behind the incident and that it is related to a drug debt.
