Convicted killer Dundon moved after contraband find

Wayne Dundon has been kicked out of the State’s only maximum security prison after being caught with phones, steroids, weapons, syringes and SIM cards in his Portlaoise cell.

The convicted killer is now being housed in a cell in the basement of Mountjoy’s C-Wing, where he is under 24-hour close supervision.
The Sunday World revealed last month how the Limerick thug had been living it up in Portlaoise Prison, where he and brothers John and Dessie had not only acquired mobile phones and steroids, but also dongles on which they were watching TV-streaming service Amazon Prime in their cell.
During a search of the Dundons’ wing, Wayne deliberately defecated on himself in a bid to prevent members of an external search team manned by elite Operational Support Unit officers from physically searching him.
“The decision to move Wayne was taken in view of the fact security on the wing had failed to prevent his accessing contraband phones and drugs [steroids],” a source said.
