Close associate of slain Gary Hutch under death threat
A close associate of slain gangster Gary Hutch is at the centre of a death threat after it emerged that the Kinahan cartel believe he acted as a lookout during the murder of David Byrne.
The criminal has now gone into hiding.
He is one of 18 people connected to the Hutch gang who have been warned by gardai that their lives are in danger.
A source told The Irish Sun:
“It’s open season for anyone connected to both gangs and it’s a question of who strikes first.
“The Kinahans have targeted this individual because they believe he was present on the day of the attack on the Regency Hotel.
“Dozens of people remain under threat and the concern is that innocent people will get caught up in this.”
The feud began last September when Gary Hutch was gunned down at an apartment block in Spain’s Costa del Sol and although there have been offers of mediation both sides have declared war on each other.
