A senior member of the Hutch gang has been shot in north Dublin.

It is believed the incident occurred on the N32, close to the airport.

Gardai have now confirmed that a man was shot multiple times at a service station on the Clonshaugh Road in Dublin at approximately 13.35 this afternoon.

According to gardai a man in his late 20s was shot a number of times and has been taken to hospital with his injuries.

The victim is believed to be fighting for his life.

Gardai also appealed for information regarding a black car spotted leaving the scene.
