Breaking: Murder suspect found dead at her apartment
A suspect in the murder of a man has been found dead at her apartment.
Mary Lynch was awaiting trial for the murder of Paddy Redmond who was found dead at his apartment at Mount Kennett Place, Limerick, in November, 2013.
Lynch was on bail from the High Court and was due to appear at Dublin District Criminal Court to be tried for the murder of the 65-year-old later this year.
Mt Redmond was discovered with a serious stab wound at the above address in the early hours of November 10.
The father-of-three grown-up daughters was originally from Dublin, but had been living in Limerick for a number of years prior to his death.
Ms Lynch was charged with Mr Redmond's murder in January of this year and the book of evidence was served to her in April.
When she was charged with the murder, she replied "not guilty".
Her body was discovered by her landlord just before 10am this morning. Sources said she was found hanging from railings outside the premises.
An investigation has been launched but foul play is not suspected.
Her apartment has been sealed off for an examination and her body has been transferred to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem.
