Man arrested in connection with murder of ‘Fat’ Andy Connors
Gardai have this morning arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the murder of Traveller burglary gang leader ‘Fat’ Andy Connors, who was gunned down at his home on the 19th of August 2014.
Connors died after he was blasted multiple times in Saggart, Co. Dublin, in an attack suspected to have been carried out by dissident republicans.
Gardai were called to the scene of the shooting in Botherboy where they discovered the 45-year-old who had been shot several times in the upper body.
A number of assailants are believed to have called to the house and the victim was shot as he made a desperate bid to escape.
The arrested man is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 – Offences Against the State Act 1939.
