Gardai charge man in connection with killing of taxi driver
Gardai have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of taxi driver Martin Mulligan.
The young man is due to appear before Drogheda District Court this evening, Thursday November 10.
The body of 53-year-old Mr Mulligan was found close to his taxi at Carnmore, Dundalk on the 28th of September 2015.
It is understood the taxi driver’s body was found by a member of the public a short distance away from a taxi.
It is believed Mr Mulligan sustained a number of serious stab injuries.
The man was arrested in the Dundalk area and is currently being detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The popular taxi driver and coal-man was from Waterview, Lower Point Road in Dundalk, Co Louth.
