Army bomb squad deactivates IED in Darndale
The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team made safe an improvised explosive device (IED) in Darndale, Dublin 17, last night.
The Army bomb squad was deployed after a request from the gardai and arrived on the scene at 9:45pm before closing off a stretch of the N32 to ensure public safety.
They carried out an assessment and made the IED safe before removing it to a secure military instillation for further examinations.
Material of an evidential nature will be handed over to gardai to assist them with their investigations.
