Armed men storm Dublin home dressed as postal workers

A man has been arrested by gardai investigating an aggravated burglary in Castleknock, in which two armed men dressed as postal workers robbed a home at gunpoint.

Gardai investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred at Georgian Village, Castleknock on May 6, 2016 have today arrested a man in the Dublin area in relation to the investigation.

The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

The incident occurred at a house in Georgian Village, Castleknock, Dublin 15 last Friday morning, shortly after 11am.

Two men, dressed as postal workers, entered the house before producing a firearm and threatening the occupants.

One of the occupants managed to get out of the house during the incident.

The two men then left the scene in possession of a safe and items of jewellery.

No injuries were reported.

Investigations are ongoing.
