Armed gardai raid premises across Dublin in Kinahan-linked operation
Both private residences and commercial premises were raided this morning as part of a garda sting on organised criminal activity in Dublin.
At 10am this morning, gardai raided 20 premises in the Dublin area on foot of search warrants issued to officers attached to the Criminal Assets Bureau and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
Among the premises searched were garages, car showrooms, solicitors and accountants.
The targeted search operation was a result of an ongoing multi-agency investigation into serious organised crime in the Dublin Region, as well as the suspected laundering of the proceeds of such criminality.
The raids were carried out in west and central Dublin and a number of vehicles were seized.
While a west Dublin criminal gang are believed to be the main focus of today's raids, they are known to have close links with the Kinahan cartel, the driving force behind the bloody gangland feud that has claimed 10 lives in Ireland and Spain over the last 12 months.
