Armed gardai nab two men in stolen BMW carrying suspected burglary tools

Gardai and armed officers from the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) intercepted a stolen and re-plated vehicle near Ashbourne Co Meath at 8pm on Monday the 24th of October.

During this operation two men, aged 41 and 31, were arrested.

A 3litre  BMW stolen in the Dublin Region within the last week was recovered along with items suspected for use in the course of committing burglaries .

The arrested men were held in custody at Blackrock Garda Station, where they were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and questioned throughout the night.

Both are due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court at 10.30am this morning charged with the Unauthorised Taking of a vehicle and theft related charges.
