Almost €200k worth of illegal beer seized at Dublin Port
Revenue officers seized almost 66,000 litres of beer, as well as three articulated trucks, at Dublin Port yesterday.
Revenue officers seized 65,772 litres of beer and three articulated trucks at Dublin Port yesterday.
The beer was discovered and detained when, following routine profiling, officers stopped and searched three German registered trucks as they disembarked a ferry from Zeebrugge last Saturday.
Further enquiries confirmed that the alcohol was undeclared.
The seized beer is valued at €193,150, which represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of €134,175.
