16 people arrested by gardai as part of Operation Thor
16 people were today arrested as part of a community policing initiative in Kilkenny and Carlow, as part of the gardai’s Operation Thor.
Checkpoints were set up and throughout the course of the operation 16 people were arrested for a variety of offences including theft, robbery and burglary.
A number of persons have appeared before the courts and others will be arraigned in the near future.
A further 16 people were also arrested on warrant.
The Department of Agriculture and gardai also seized 30 horses from the Wetlands area of Kilkenny.
The animals have since been moved to a safe environment.
