UK police make appeal to find mission pensioner

Police have made a fresh appeal to find a pensioner who has been missing for more than a week.

Keen walker Paul Hyam, 78, was last seen by relatives at his home in Wellington, Somerset, on August 26.

Detectives are becoming increasingly concerned for Mr Hyam and describe his disappearance as being totally out of character.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "We're continuing to appeal for people to help us find Paul Hyam.

"His disappearance is out of character and we are concerned for his welfare.

"He was last seen wearing light chinos, a long-sleeved blue shirt with tie and a blue body warmer.

"Paul is a keen walker and may be on foot or using public transport."

Mr Hyam is described as white, 5ft 10ins, with grey hair and of average build.

Anyone who sees Mr Hyam is asked to call 999.
