Security guard charged with stealing €84k on first day on the job
A security guard has been accused of stealing €100,000 (€84,000) on his first day on the job.
A 19-year-old man from New Jersey was working his first day for Garda, a US cash-in-transit and armoured car company.
According to reports in the US, he was allegedly spotted on company cameras taking the cash last Tuesday.
Security staff found swooped and $85,900 was found in a car nearby.
However, there was no sign of the rest of the money and it has yet to be recovered
The man was arrested and charged before being released on his own recognisance.
