Police in Spain have opened an investigation after a man's body was found stripped and tied to a bench near Malaga Airport.

The body of the 51-year-old, believed to be from the UK, was discovered yesterday near the terminal building of the airport through which thousands of tourists pass every day.

The Telegraph claim that the man's hands were tied behind his back while the Mail claim that one of the man's legs was also tied to the seat.

The victim was also found with his trousers and underwear pulled down, which means police are investigating if there was a sexual assault committed prior to the man's death.

Police have said that there were no external signs of violence on the man's body but they are investigating if he had been choked to death.

Investigators believe a trolley found near the body belonged to the man but they are unsure if the man was sleeping rough or if he he just spent Thursday night outside the airport after possibly missing a flight.
