Police in the UK have launched a manhunt after a 37-year-old woman was attacked with acid on Friday night.

The attack caused her face to “melt”, leading to fears that she may be blinded for life.

She suffered burns to her face, neck and arms.

Police are now hunting brothers Billy Midmore (22) and Geoffrey Midmore (26) in connection with the attack.

Billy is described as being white, of stocky build, 5ft 8ins tall with blue eyes and a scar on his left arm while Geoffrey is described as being white, 5ft 1ins with green eyes and a scar on the right side of his face, also of stocky build and has a tattoo on his hand.

Reports indicate that a post appeared on Geoffrey’s Facebook page six hours after the attack saying:

"Ive done something really f***ing bad its a proper mad ting sad ting."

Acting Detective Inspector Will Whale said: "They could be in a number of places as they are known to have contacts in Southampton, Basingstoke, London and the south east.

"I would appeal to Billy and Geoffrey to give themselves up right now. We will carry on with our manhunt until we find you, so make it easier on yourselves and come forward.

"We consider them to be dangerous individuals and clearly a potential risk to members of the public."
