A man believed to have terrorised women for four years with bizarre 'foot licking' attacks has been arrested by police in Japan.

The Mail report that Akira Nishiyama was picked up after a shocking foot attack on a woman in Kyoto that lasted 30 minutes.

That attack, in July, saw the attacker trick a woman into his car where he then grabbed her ankles, removed her footwear and began to lick her feet and nibble her heel.

After the attack the man is reported to have let her go and said 'thank you'.

The victim managed to film some of the attack and get part of the car registration plate and on Monday police arrested the 56-year-old Nishiyama on sexual assault charges.

He denies the attack.

Police had been searching for the person behind at least five similar attacks in the region over the last four years, dubbing the perpetrator 'The Foot Licker'.
