After busting a grow house on the outskirts of Sydney, the New South Wales Police discovered an extremely dangerous electrical set up in the house.

The raid recovered cannbais plants totalling a value of $2m AUSD (€1.3m) but it was the way the grow house was powered that really caught the attention of the cops.

The police posted the below picture on their Facebook page, along with an update on the case.

During the operation, officers arrested two men following a vehicle stop in nearby Sydenham.

The men – a 53-year-old from the Melbourne suburb of Footscray, and a 38-year-old from Earlwood – were taken to Newtown Police Station.

The older man was charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant and using electricity without authority.

The younger man was charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant.

Both were refused bail and are scheduled to appear at Central Local Court today.

The large hydroponic set up, with 653 plants, was found in an industrial complex.

Police described the elelectricity set up as 'dangerous' and said that grow houses are prone to fires because of these overloaded power systems.
