Mystery deepens as police find third foot in garden

Police are keeping an "open mind" as to whether a foot found in a garden is linked to two previous discoveries nearby.

All three feet have been found within a few hundreds yards of each other in Bath, Somerset.

The first foot was discovered in Weston Park East in February, then the second was located in the garden of a property on Weston Park in July.

The third foot was found in the garden of a property on Cranwells Park at 2.30pm on Wednesday. A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said it had been sent for forensic analysis.

The spokesman said: "Following a comprehensive investigation, it was concluded that the first foot was more than likely to be an exhibit from a medical or educational establishment and was not the result of a crime.

"It is anticipated that the second foot, which is still undergoing tests, is likely to be linked to this.

"The same officers are looking into the latest discoveries and will look to confirm beyond all reasonable doubt that they are linked and if there are any new lines of inquiry which can be taken forward."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the force on 101, quoting log number 558 of August 3.
