Mum in court accused of poisoning and murdering seven-week-old son
A mother has appeared in court accused of poisoning and murdering her young son.
Hannah Turtle, 21, is charged with the murder of James Hughes, believed to be aged around seven weeks, when he died on June 13 last year.
Turtle, from Shotton, North Wales, is also charged with three counts of causing ill treatment or neglect and two counts of poisoning.
All the offences are said to have taken place in May and June of last year.
Turtle, wearing a pink hoodie and grey jogging bottoms, made a brief appearance in the dock at Mold Crown Court on Friday before Judge Eleri Rees, appearing via video link from Cardiff Crown Court.
A further hearing was arranged for October 4 at Mold. There was no application for bail and Turtle was remanded in custody.
The brief hearing was told her current accommodation is in a hospital.
