Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a missing woman was found dumped in waste ground under a flyover.

Pardeep Kaur was last seen at about 4pm on October 16 in Harlington High Street, west London, and was reported missing the following day.

Shortly after 4.30pm on Saturday, detectives investigating her disappearance discovered the body of a woman in waste ground underneath the Harlington High Street flyover in Hayes.

While she is yet to be formally identified, officers believe the body is of the missing 30-year-old.

The death is being treated as suspicious and next-of kin have been informed.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Dawson, of the Met's homicide and major crime command, said: "At this early stage of the investigation I am appealing to any witnesses in the Carlton Avenue and Bedwell Gardens area who may have been driving to work to come forward as they may have seen Pardeep walking to work at about 6.30am on Monday October 17."

Two men, aged 30 and 31, who were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the disappearance have been bailed to a date in early December.

Anyone with information is urged to call the incident room on 0208 358 0200 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
