Man who had penis cut off in horror assault last year found dead
Kelvin Hewitt, the man who police found on a motorway with his penis cut off last year, has been found dead at his home.
Hewitt, 40, was found dead at his home at King George’s Terrace, in South Bank, Middlesbrough, according to the Hartlepool Mail.
Hewitt was at the centre of one of the more bizarre cases of 2014 when police discovered him on the A66 motorway with his penis chopped off. Police believed that he was the victim of mistaken identity and he was so traumatised by the attack that he was unable to speak to police until after he came out of an induced coma.
A man was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the attack but he was later released without charge.
Police are not treating his death as suspicious and a post mortem will now take place into the death of the father of seven.
