A 45-year-old man who was brutally tortured by mobsters has been convicted of a £4million (€5.6million) drugs smuggling racket.

Anthony Joy’s was tortured for five-days by gangsters who warned him that “this might hurt a little” before they sliced his ear off in a scene reminiscent of Tarantino’s ‘Reservoir Dogs’.

The thugs accused Joy of stealing their missing haul of Class A drugs before taking a blowtorch to his ankle, hand and wrist.

They also poured boiling water over his legs and threatened to visit his home and attack his children, before bashing his hand and fingers with iron bars.

A gun was pointed at Joy’s head and he was told “We have some good news and bad news. The good news is that you’re getting out of here. The bad news is that you’re going out in a f***ing box,” before he was bundled into a van and dumped onto a Liverpool street, naked.

The man who organised the abduction, Paul Wilson, was locked up last year for 12-years.

Joy, who has since been convicted of drug smuggling, will be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court tomorrow.
