Man to go on trial accused of murdering his 9-year-old grandson
A man is to stand trial in the UK later this month accused of killing his grandson.
Stewart James Greene, 65, of Grimoldby, near Louth in Lincolnshire, is accused of murdering nine-year-old Alex Robinson on December 23 last year.
A not-guilty plea to murder has been entered on behalf of Greene by his counsel, Tim Spencer QC.
During a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday, Mr Justice Haddon-Cave confirmed the trial would begin on November 17 and is expected to last 10 days.
Greene, dressed in a blue T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms, did not speak other than to confirm his name.
He was remanded into custody to await his trial.
