Robert Ellerby, 44, shot Watmuff in the back of the leg after he came to the Ellerby's home demanding back money from a deposit paid for a flat he and his Ellerby's wife Rubbina were planning to rent in Scarborough, UK.

Earlier in the night, the personal trainer had posted a naked picture of Rubbina on Facebook.

Despite protests to remove the photo from the couple he refused and made his way to the Ellerby house where he also smashed a window of Rubbina's Honda Civic.

Ellerby had heard the self confessed 'football hooligan' banging on his door and shot him through the window.

Judge Stephen Ashurt told Ellerby, that there was 'no justification' for shooting Scott Watmuff.

"Breakdowns of relationships usually do create tensions but they can never be resolved by threatening another with, let alone discharging, a loaded weapon because of the obvious risks," he said.

"Even if Scott Watmuff was an unsavoury character, you were not justified in shooting at or towards him."

The court heard that Watmuff and Rubbina had an affair and left their respective partners last year.

They planned to live together but when Rubbina returned to the marital home, Watmuff demanded the deposit for the flat back.

Watmuff, who claimed to be a former member of Leeds United Service Crew, posted a naked picture of Rubbina on Facebook in retaliation.

He was jailed last month for revenge porn.
