Man denies killing woman after meeting her on dating site

A man has denied strangling a woman after meeting her on a dating website.

Miles Donnelly, 35, allegedly asphyxiated 44-year-old Usha Patel and stabbed her repeatedly in the stomach at the home she shared with her five-year-old son in Melrose Avenue, Cricklewood, north-west London, on October 8 last year.

The defendant, of Hall Place, Paddington, west London, is also accused of attacking a second woman - Rosie Ferringo - the following day.

Donnelly entered not guilty pleas to murdering Ms Patel and assaulting Ms Ferringo causing her actual bodily harm when he appeared before the Old Bailey via video link from Wormwood Scrubs.

The shaven-headed and bearded defendant was remanded in custody to await a two-week trial due to start on February 15.
