CCTV footage has emerged of a would-be kidnapper snatching a toddler from a pram.

Police in Washington state are hunting for a man who was caught on camera running off with the toddler on Sunday. The man snatched the 22-month-old boy in the small town of Sprague in the Pacific North West.

He was only stopped when the toddler's young brother and sister chased after him. The suspect put the child down and ran off.

The siblings were playing in a park near their babysitter's house when the man, who can be clearly seen on the footage, took toddler Owen Wright from his pushchair.

The boy's father, Michael Wright, is urging anyone with information to come forward so the perpetrator can be caught.
"You get nervous. You're nervous and you can't think straight," he told KXLY news.
"I can't explain the feeling, the anxiety and everything that goes into finding out your children is (sic) missing or something has happened to them."
Lincoln County Sheriff Wade Magers said the youngster was unhurt.
