Loaded gun found stashed in toilet-roll holder at popular city shop

A loaded gun has been found stashed in a toilet-roll holder at a popular high street department store.

The deadly weapon had been concealed in the men's lavatory at House of Fraser on Corporation Street, Birmingham.

It was uncovered by a member of staff shortly before 7pm on Monday, West Midlands Police said.

The force said in a statement: "The gun has been made safe and is being forensically examined."

Detectives are currently scouring CCTV and have appealed for information from the public.

A House of Fraser spokesman said: "We are currently working very closely with the West Midlands Police supporting them with their investigation and cannot comment further at this stage."
