Judge continues to sum up in the case of England footballer Adam Johnson’s child sex offence trial after it reaches its 13th day.

The 28-year-old has admitted to the “grooming” and kissing the 15-year-old girl, but denies two more serious charge of sexual activity.

The charges came about after an incident in Johnson's Range Rover last January, after he met up with the 15-year-old in County Durham.

The player admits that he kissed the teenager but he has told the jury at Bradford Crown Court that he went no further.

The ex-Sunderland star admitted the flirtation, but denied his messages were an attempt to “warm her up” to the idea of sexual activity, which the prosecution alleged.

Johnson admitted he tried to move things on and have a second meeting. He intended to meet her in a place with “the ultimate level or privacy”, the court heard.

The girl has said Johnson put his hands down her pants and that she gave him oral sex.

Judge Jonathan Rose began summing up the evidence in the case on Monday and he resumed today.

Ex, Stacey Flounders, watched from the public gallery with members of Johnson's family.
