Japanese man stabs son for not studying

A Japanese dad stabbed his 12-year-old son to death with a kitchen knife because the boy didn’t study for an entrance exam for a private junior high school, according to reports.

The boy’s 48-year-old father, Kengo Satake, told police that he “argued with his son for not studying” and that he had accidentally stabbed his son.

Ryota died from loss of blood in hospital on Sunday and the father was promptly arrested after staff contacted police.

Local media reported that the boy’s mother was at work when the incident occurred
