A perverted hypnotist has been handed a ten-year-sentence after he put a woman in a trance and molested her while trying to make her orgasm by saying the word ‘kapow’.

52-year-old Gary Naraido offered to cure his 22-year-old victim’s eating disorder through hypnotism, but as soon as he had her under his spell he attempted to control the woman sexually.

The victim told the Hull Crown Court in the UK:

“He said, ‘I’m going to say a word and when I do it will make you feel orgasmic’. Then he said ‘Kapow’. It was weird.”

He told her: “If you ever have a boyfriend in the future, it will never be as good as me,” she said.

“He said, 'I will give you the greatest feeling. You will be 100 per cent OK.'”

While she was hypnotised and unable to move, Naraido touched the woman both over and under her clothes and moved her hand to touch his crotch.

“I could not speak. I felt really heavy,” she told the court.

He said: "I know you cannot speak. Communicate by lifting your left index finger to say: No, and your right index finger to say: Yes.

"He then just tapped my right index finger. My right finger would go up, so he carried on,” she said.

"He said: "I don't think this is really working. I need to touch you.

He said: "Do you want me to? He taped my right finger for yes. He said open your legs.

She said Naraido then sexually assaulted her over her tights, took her hand and put it on his crotch and said:

"Can you feel how hard I am? You are making me aroused. My voice is making you feel horny. You want this. It is great."

Naraido then insisted that they needed to be “flesh on flesh” and touched the victim under her clothes.

He also kept repeating his hotel room number, suggesting she should leave the hotel, drive her car round the corner and come back to see him.

The 52-year-old, who is originally from Boston, also pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a separate 14-year-old girl and possession of 25 extreme pornographic images.

Naraido, who had searched the internet for “hypnotherapy for orgasm” and “Harry the Horny Hypnotist”, was found guilty of two charges of sexual assault and one charge of assault by penetration.

Judge Mark Bury, sentencing, told Naraido:

“While under hypnosis, you touched this woman over her clothing.

“She had an eating disorder and she allowed you to use hypnosis to try and treat here.

“You significantly abused her trust by talking to her about sexual matters while she was under hypnosis. She felt unable to move while she was under hypnosis.'

Judge Bury added that the victim now has reoccurring nightmares and has had to give up her job.

“She could no longer afford her accommodation and had to move back to her parents' home.

“She says she has difficulties forming relationships. She used to be a believer in hypnotherapy [but] now she feels she will no longer be able to treated in this way.

“In short it has had a massive impact on her life.”

Naraido must sign the National Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
