Four arrested in operation against organised crime gang

Four men are currently in custody following a garda operation against a suspected organised crime gang.

As part of an intelligence led operation by the Garda National Drug Unit / Organised Crime Unit targeting the activities of a North Dublin crime gang, detectives have seized cannabis herb and arrested the men in the early hours of this morning.

Gardai conducted the planned search of a residence in Larchill, Santry just after midnight.

During the search, cannabis herb - pending analysis - with an estimated street value of up to €150,000 was seized.

Four males in their 20’s and 30’s were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Swords and Ballymun Garda Stations.

A garda spokesman said: "These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality."
