Two women charged with "vicious" assault on driveway of Dublin home
Two young women have appeared in court accused of pulling another woman from her doorway and subjecting her to a "vicious" attack on her driveway.
Chantelle Craig (20) and Sandra Craig (22) are accused of assaulting the woman, who was not named in court, after driving up to her house.
A third woman, Stacey Grey (28), is alleged to have smashed a car windscreen with a golf club at another location on the same day.
Chantelle Craig, of Shancastle Drive, Clondalkin, and Sandra Craig, of Greenfort Crescent, Clondalkin, are charged with assault causing harm.
The assault is alleged to have happened in Old Tower Crescent, Clondalkin on April 3 last year.
Stacey Grey, of Shancastle Park, is charged with causing criminal damage to a car belonging to Sandra Craig in Shancastle Avenue on the same date.
Judge David McHugh adjourned all three cases at Blanchardstown District Court.
A garda told the court the alleged victim was at her home when a car carrying four women pulled up outside.
It was alleged they pulled the victim on to the driveway where two of them viciously assaulted her. It is alleged they punched and kicked her "on numerous occasions".
There was "clear" CCTV footage of the incident, said the garda and a medical report on the woman's injuries was presented to the court.
The judge noted that the woman had attended her GP and the results of a neurological examination carried out were normal.
Judge McHugh accepted jurisdiction to deal with the case at district court level.
He made an order for disclosure of statements and exhibits to include CCTV footage of the alleged assault.
There was no proposed CCTV evidence in relation to the damage allegations.
The judge adjourned the cases to a date next month at the request of defence solicitor John Shanley.
Evidence of Chantelle Craig's arrest, charge and caution were handed in to court.
Mr Shanley said Sandra Craig was on social welfare and was also a part-time childcare practitioner.
Judge McHugh granted free legal aid to Sandra Craig but deferred legal aid for Chantelle Craig.
The court heard that Stacey Grey's case was connected to the other two. Judge McHugh accepted jurisdiction in the case.
All three accused were remanded on continuing bail to appear in court on May 9.
None of the accused addressed the court during the hearing and none have indicated how they intend to plead.
