Two men have appeared in court in connection with the death of Christopher Nevin, who passed away following an incident last week.

The two males, Wayne Cluskey (24) and Josh Turner (23), both with addresses at Mooretown, Ratoath, appeared before Navan District Court earlier today.

The accused each face a charge alleging they intentionally or recklessly caused serious harm to the 27-year-old on 19 November.

The incident occurred at 15 Tailteann Road, Windtown, Navan on Thursday afternoon.

Cluskey and Turner were remanded in custody and ordered to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday.

Mr Nevin, of the Francis Park halting site in Navan, was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Friday afternoon but passed away 24 hours.

Sources said he had lost a large amount of blood following the incident and he was suffering a cardiac arrest by the time paramedics arrived on the scene.

There was a heavy armed garda presence at the courthouse today for the appearance.
