Trial of Offaly doctor accused of murdering her daughter set for 2016
A date has been set for the trial of a Co Offaly GP who is accused of the murder of her 11-year-old daughter Emily Barut at their family home.
Dr Bernadette Scully (57) of Emvale, in Bachelor’s Walk, Tullamore, Co Offaly is charged with the murder of her daughter at their home on September 15, 2012.
11-year-old Emily, who suffered from severe physical and mental disability since birth, was found dead by Dr Scully's partner, Lithuanian composer Andrius Kozlovskis.
At the Central Criminal Court today, Mr Justice Paul Carney set a trial date for November 21, 2016.
