Thug who spat in woman's face to be sentenced
A DUBLIN youth, who stole a shop worker's glasses from her head and then spat in her face before handing them back, has been given a five-month sentence.
The 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to assault, breach of the peace and theft of the glasses from the woman, a Chinese national who was working in a shop at Store Street in Dublin 1. Judge John O'Connor heard at the Dublin Children's Court that the incident took place on September 20th.
The court heard he got into an altercation and was asked to leave and then took the shop worker's prescription glasses €250. She followed him out to get them back but he spat into her face before he returned them.
The teenager is also awaiting trial for other serious offences.
Judge John O'Connor was furnished with a probation report today.
