Taxi man accused of touching young female passenger

A 50-year-old taxi driver from west Dublin is charged with sexually assaulting a young woman who had been a passenger in his cab.

The man is alleged to have inappropriately touched a female passenger on her leg while he was driving her home after a night out.

He is said to have put his hand on the young woman;s thigh.

Judge David McHugh remanded the accused man on continuing bail to appear before Blanchardstown District Court later this month.

The judge also ordered the disclosure of any statements in relation to the allegation.

The incident is alleged to have taken place between Harcourt Street in Dublin and Cellbrigde, CO Kildare, on the 1st of November, last year.

The accused man has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
