Man on trial accused of carrying out burglary armed with slash hook
A man has gone on trial accused of carrying out an aggravated burglary armed with a slash hook.
Edward Charles O'Reilly of Wheatfield Grove, Clondalkin, Dublin has pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to committing the burglary at Deansrath Avenue, Clondalkin on May 11, 2013. It is alleged that he had a slash hook as a weapon at the time of the burglary.
Mr O'Reilly also denied two charges of assault causing harm to Edward O'Reilly and Michael McDonagh during the same incident.
The trial will open in evidence tomorrow before Judge Karen O'Connor and a jury of five men and seven women.
