Louth woman accused of murdering her partner to give evidence today
A 42-year-old Louth woman accused of murdering her partner last year following an argument will give evidence at her trial today.
Paula Farrell with an address at Rathmullen Park, Drogheda, Co Louth is charged with murdering Wayne McQuillan (30) at her home on January 1, 2014.
Two weeks ago at the Central Criminal Court, Ms Farrell pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr McQuillan.
Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy said to the jury of five men and seven women today that counsel for the defence had asked him to put the matter into tomorrow "following circumstances that the accused will give evidence and she will take more than half a day so it is better to do it in the one day.
"I understand it will delay matters for a day but I have acceded this application and I do apologise for it," said the judge
The trial continues this morning at 11am.
