Irish Voice star facing a string of sex charges too ill to go to court
The lawyer of former contestant from The Voice, Jeff Anderson, has claimed he is “too ill” to appear in court.
Jeff Anderson, 25, from Co Down, has been charged with 15 offences but failed to appear in court on Tuesday.
His solicitor said he was ill.
The charges include possession of indecent photographs, voyeurism and indecent assault on a female, covering an eight-year period between 2005 and 2013.
The accused, from Crawfordsburn Road in Newtownards, had been due to appear at the town's courthouse.
A prosecution lawyer asked for the case to be adjourned for eight weeks.
The magistrate said: "It is early days in this case."
The next hearing is due on May 3.
Anderson sang in Andrew Lloyd Webber's ITV show Jesus Christ Superstar.
In 2014 he appeared on The Voice in front of Will.i.am and Tom Jones.
