Gardai appealing for witnesses to murder of tragic Lorcan O’Reilly

Gardai investigating the murder of Lorcan O’Reilly are appealing for witnesses.

21-year-old O’Reilly was knifed to death at the at the Oliver Bond Flats complex in Dublin 8, in the early hours of Sunday, 1st of November.

It is believed that he was attacked between 2am and 3am.

He received a single stab wound to the heart and was rushed to St James's Hospital but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem was carried out by the State Pathologist Doctor Bolster, yesterday.

The scene was preserved and a forensic and technical examination was carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.

A thorough search of the area has also been conducted.

An incident room has been established at Kevin Street Garda Station and a senior investigating officer and a family liaison officer and a team of detectives have been appointed in this case.

House to house enquiries continue to be carried out and up to 100 enquiries have been conducted to date
