Dublin man charged with possession of firearm
A Dublin man has been charged at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin with possession of a firearm.
Eamon McNamee (34), with an address at Larkfield Square, Lucan, County Dublin was charged with possession of a firearm with the intent to commit an indictable offence, namely assualt causing harm, at Fairgreen, Saggart, Co Dublin on January 19th, 2013.
Detective Garda Graham Dunne, of the Special Detective Unit, told the court that he arrested Mr McNamee under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act yesterday at 7:21am.
When cautioned, Mr McNamee made no reply, the court heard.
The detective garda transported Mr McNamee to Lucan Garda Station and on to the Special Criminal Court, where he showed the charged man a copy of the original charge sheet, to which Mr McNamee made no reply.
Mr Justice Paul Butler, presiding at the three-judge, non-jury court, remanded Mr McNamee in custody until this morning, when a bail application is expected to be made.
