Dublin man appears in court charged in connection with double murder

A Dublin man extradited from Spain in connection with a double murder has appeared before Dundalk District Court.

32-year-old Jason O'Driscoll of Richmond Avenue, Raheny, Dublin 3 was arrested on foot of two arrest warrants in relation to a double murder in County Louth.

O’Driscoll was arrested at Alicante airport in April after arriving on an EasyJet flight from Belfast and was then taken into garda custody at 12:24am this morning at Dublin Airport.

The court heard he made no reply when he was charged at Dundalk Garda Station at 1.35am with the murders of Anthony Burnett (32) and 25-year-old Joseph Redmond.

Both men were shot and their bodies were discovered in a burnt out car by fire fighters at Ravensdale Forest in March 2012.

The Defence barrister said there was consent to a remand in custody to Cloverhill District Court this day week.
