29-year-old woman pleads not guilty to Wicklow murder
A 29-year-old woman will go on trial later this week, charged with murdering a man in Wicklow in 2013.
Marta Herda, with an address at Pairc Na Saile, Emoclew Road, Arklow, was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court this morning.
She was charged with murdering Hungarian Csaba Orsas at South Quay, Arklow on March 26, 2013.
Dressed in a cream jacket, peach blouse and black skirt, she stood to be arraigned with the help of a Polish interpreter. When the charge was put to her, she replied in English: ‘not guilty’.
Michael O’Higgins SC, defending, told the court that the trial would take seven or eight days. Brendan Grehan SC, prosecuting, asked for a Hungarian interpreter for one witness.
Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy swore in a jury of seven women and five men, who will hear the trial on Thursday.
